[Also in Group XXXI] A protective and lubricating device for the end of the inner member 12 of a Bowden cable is shown on a bicycle caliper brake control and comprises a plastic or rubber sleeve formed with a cap section 101 fitting over the cable anchor block 11, a closed-end tubular section 102 fitting over the free end of the cable, and a corrugated tubular section 103 which encloses the exposed length of cable between the caliper levers. The section 102 prevents scratching by the cut end of the cable. The section 103 is filled with solid or semi-solid lubricant and extends to the adjustable abutment 14 for the cable casing 123.
