Abstract

Cleansing compositions comprise compounds of the formula <FORM:0836956/III/1> wherein X is 1, 2 or 3, and salts thereof, stabilized in aqueous solution with acids such as hydrochloric, acetic and tartaric, or formulated into powders or mouldable pieces with urea sodium sulphate or talcum. Specifications 437,104 and 692,022 are referred to.ALSO:The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0836956/IV (b)/1> wherein x is 1, 2 or 3, and salts of such compounds. The compounds are prepared by reacting 1:3-propylenediamine with n-dodecyl chloride and carboxyalkylating the resulting monoalkylated propylenediamine with, e.g. chloroacetic, chloropropionic, crotonic or acrylic acid, or by reacting n-dodecylamine with acrylonitrile, hydrogenating the product and carboxyalkylating as before. Specifications 437,104 and 692,022 are referred to.ALSO:Cleansing and disinfecting compositions for living and inanimate surfaces comprise compounds of the formula <FORM:0836956/VI/1> wherein x is 1, 2 or 3, and salts thereof, stabilized in aqueous solution with acids such as hydrochloric, acetic and tartaric, or formulated into powders or mouldable pieces with urea, sodium sulphate or talcum. Specifications 437,104 and 692,022 are referred to.
