Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:0836280/IV (b)/1> (wherein R is an alkyl group with not more than four carbon atoms, R1 is an alkylene group with not more than four carbon atoms, the total number of carbon atoms in R and R1 being not less than three, or R and R1 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached form a cycloalkyl group), and the preparation thereof by reacting a compound of the general formula <FORM:0836280/IV (b)/2> with an ethynyl magnesium halide of the general formula <FORM:0836280/IV (b)/3> (wherein X is a bromine or chlorine atom). According to the Provisional Specification, the compounds of the general formula (I) above may contain another halogen atom, especially a bromine atom, in place of the chlorine atom. Specification 808,392 is referred to.
