836,249. Inhalers. BRITISH OXYGEN CO. Ltd. July 23, 1958 [July 23, 1957], No. 23286/57. Class 81 (2). An inhaler comprises a device simulating a smoking implement having one or more orifices for the admission of air and an inlet 4 for a supply of oxygen under pressure. Oxygen is supplied through an inlet 4 to the hollow stem 2 of a mouthpiece resembling a tobacco pipe. Inside the stem the inlet is directed away from the end to be placed between the user's lips to prevent the entry of saliva. The bowl 1 contains absorbent material 8 and a perforate disc 6 the perforations of which may be obturated by a finger. The gas is supplied to the inlet from a compressed gas cylinder through pressure regulating devices and a flexible tube 5.
