Abstract
835,658. Aircraft undercarriages. BRITISH MESSIER Ltd. May 2, 1958, No. 14149/58. Addition to 806,024. Drawings to Specification. Class 4. In an undercarriage according to the parent Specification, the leg incorporates an oleopneumatic shock absorber having a chamber which in operation contains fluid under pressure, and the booster jack comprises an hydraulic piston and cylinder unit having a pressure fluid chamber on one side of the piston, and there is provided means connecting the two chambers so that in operation, the pressures in them are equal. The connected chambers may both contain hydraulic fluid, or compressed air, and the connection may be made by flexible pipes, e.g. armoured rubber tubing, and/or non-flexible pipes, and/or internal passageways in the undercarriage parts, rotary fluid tight joints being provided where necessary.
