Abstract
835,528. Dust-moistening apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK BETH A.G. June 17, 1958, No. 19384/58. Class 55 (2). As shown in Fig. 1, an apparatus for moistening industrial dusts, particularly blast-furnace dust, comprises a fixed drum a having supply pipe b and outlet pipe c over which is arranged water tube i having nozzles which spray the dust passing through the drum. The dust is propelled through the drum by means of conveyer blades k (see Fig. 2) attached to rotating shaft f, and mixed with the spray by means of mixing blades I which are displaced by 90 degrees but are adjacent to and alternate with each conveyer blade. The conveyer blades are planiform and are mounted obliquely to the axis of the shaft, but the mixer blades (see Fig. 4) have a bent rim g and are provided at the back with a stiffening plate h. The mixer blades are mounted as shown in Fig. 1 so that the part attached to the shaft forms an acute angle towards the inlet end b of the drum.
