Abstract

The invention comprises siloxanes consisting essentially of more than 3 units of the general formula <FORM:0834711/IV (a)/1> wherein R1 is a perfluoroalkyl radical of 1 to 3 C atoms, each R11 is a saturated aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radical and n is 1 or 2. The siloxanes may be made by hydrolysing in conventional manner the corresponding chlorosilanes which are described and claimed in Specification 809,317, and the examples describe such preparation. Uses.-As lubricants, hydraulic fluids, waterrepellents and as intermediates in making siloxane resins and rubbers.
