Abstract

The phosphites (I) contain: (a) at least one P atom bonded by O atom to H or organic radicals, (b) at least one group -OCH2-CH2-S-CH2-CH2O- bonded to at least one P atom of phosphite, (c) 3 monovalent radicals linked to phosphite. The thiodiethanol group may contain =S=O or -S- H- where R1 is H or lower alkyl. An example of (I) is where Z1 and Z2 are H or organic radicals. The phosphite improve thermal stability without altering the physical properties of polymers.
