Abstract

834,706. Hose reels. BRITISH XYLONITE CO. Ltd. Aug. 29, 1958 [Aug. 30, 1957], No. 27418/57. Class 99(2). In a hose reel comprising a drum-like portion and radially projecting flanges 4, a pair of reeling handles 5, angularly spaced by approximately 180 degrees about the axis of the reel, project outwardly from the opposite axiallyspaced ends of the reel. As shown, the reel consists of a pair of moulded, synthetic plastic cylindrical elements 2 each integral with a corrugated flange 4 welded along the abutment faces thereof, those faces being provided with co-operating lugs 11 and recesses 12. The hollow handles 5 of a moulded, synthetic plastic pass through holes 7 in the flanges 4 and have flanges 9 which bear against light-alloy washers 10. Stiffening ridges and lightening holes 15, 16 are provided in each element 2.
