Abstract

834,395. Culverts. ARMCO INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION. July 23, 1958, No. 23777/58. Class 99(2). A metallic locking element 30 adapted to fasten together two opposed, semi-circular sections of an offset-seat type culvert pipe, consists of a main body having at one end an offset portion 31 providing a shoulder 32, and at the other end a portion 33 curved out of the plane of the body in a direction opposite to the offset portion 31. As shown, the pipe comprises overlapped, corrugated sections 10 in reversed and inverted relationship and assembled with the plain edges 10a thereof engaging notches 12 formed in the opposite edges. The sections 10 have aligned slots 11 through which the offset portions 21, 31 of locking members 20, 30 are passed, the portion 33 of the element 30 being inserted through the aperture 23 in the element 20 and bent over.
