Abstract

834,074. Systems of conveyers. AU-RO S.a.r.L. Sept. 10, 1957 [Sept. 15, 1956], No. 28580/57. Class 104 (2). A conveyer comprises wheeled carriages 4 each having a pair of wheels 5 moving along superimposed tracks 1 and propelled by screw conveyers 8 which have a portion 8<SP>1</SP> of increased pitch to increase the speed of the carriage at the ends of the runs to the speed of an arcuate transfer section, the speed of the carriage being decreased at the beginning of the runs to the speed of the run by a screw 8<SP>11</SP>. The pivots of the wheels 5 have projections 9 which engage the thread of the screws which are driven through chain drives 31, 32 driven by shafts 33 connected by bevel wheels 34 to a driven shaft 35. At the end of the track the projection engages the forked end of a guide lever 10 keyed to a shaft 11 driven from the shaft 33 by wormwheel and screw 12, 13 in synchronism with the carriage. The carriage during transfer along the arcuate track 3 from the upper to the lower track 1 is maintained horizontal by a fixed wheel 22 on the carriage engaging with a wheel 20 on the same pivot as a wheel 19 on the lever 10 and driven by a chain 18 engaging a wheel 16 on the same spindle as a wheel 15 engaging a fixed wheel 17, the wheel 20 effects one complete rotation during the transfer and half a rotation about the wheel 22. The screws may comprise one or several screws and the carriages may be spaced or connected.
