Abstract

833,962. Filing papers &c. ROSS, R. L. May 19, 1958 [May 20, 1957], No. 16035/58. Class.146(1) A number of booklets 10, removably bound together, each consist of double leaves joined together along a fold line by means of staples 12, stitches, or other means providing loops externally of the fold line, and these loops are engaged over binder plates each consisting of a base plate and a pair of wings 14 which overlie the base. The bocklets are retained on the binder plates by a long packing strip 15 which is inserted endwise between the wings 14 of each plate and the loops of the staples &c. 12, and this strip may have an outer cover part overlying the wings 14 and joined to the strip by a central neck portion. A cover leaf 16, having cutouts in the spine to accommodate the binder plates may be applied before the packing strip 15 is inserted, and the sides of the cover may be slipped into pockets in a loose cover. As shown in Fig. 8, a metal packing strip 20 of U-shape, with the limb 21 much longer than the other limb 22, is housed in a tubular pocket in the spine of a loose cover 24. Transverse slits 25-27 in the pocket to allow the strip 20 to be inserted, and the ends of the limbs 21. 22 lie externally of the pocket. In this form, the two binder plates are hooked over the limbs 21, 22.
