Abstract

833,909. Disc feeders. HUTTER, J. F., and KELLY, L. July 1, 1958, No. 20982/58. Class 78 (1). Ore pieces from hopper 26 fall down vibrated shoot 24 on to rotating disc 3 and are discharged therefrom by stationary band 16 which is spiral in shape so that the pieces separate to flow off the disc in single file. Band 16 is adjustably secured to base-plate 1 by bolts 21. Disc 3 is driven by motor 13 through belt 15 and gearing 14, and is accordingly mounted for rotation upon ball-bearings 12. The surface of disc 3 is elevated centrally by means of plate 7. Alternatively, disc 3 is made " upwardly conical " and band 16 is made " downwardly conical " as shown in Fig. 4.
