Abstract

Articles are made by shaping, by the vacuum deep-drawing process, polyamides formed to the extent of at least 95% by weight by condensation of unitary polyamide-forming substances and having a molecular weight of 40,000 to 100,000. The preferred moulding material is polycaprolactam which contains as a hardening agent up to 5% by weight of e -aminocaprylic acid or of e -capryl lactam. The examples describe the manufacture of trays of polycaprolactam and of polyhexamethylene adipamide.
