832,104. Checking picking sticks in looms. PAGE BELTING CO. Aug. 7, 1957 [Dec. 3, 1956], No. 24850/57. Class 142(2) A picker stick check strap which slides on a rod 16 comprises a canvas ply 21, a leather ply 22, and has its ends connected by a member 26 which retains the strap in a U-shape. Additional leather strips 24 may be provided where the stick contacts the strap, and the strap ends are reinforced by a member 23 of vegetable fibre, plastic, or metal. Stops 30 having buffers 32 limit the movement of the strap along the rod 16. If the stops are dispensed with, a lug 17 with which the rod is secured to the loom engages the trailing end of the strap and forms a stop. The member 26 may be flexible and of vegetable fibre or may be a rod. The distance between the ends of the strap can be varied. U.S.A. Specification 2,666,455 is referred to.
