Abstract
832,097. Draught excluders. BAGGESGAARD, H. E. March 20, 1957 [March 21, 1956], No. 9077/57. Class 20(3) A continuous elastically deformable sealing strip 1, made e.g. of thermoplastic material, is secured in a recess 3b formed in the inner face of a fixed window frame 3 and has a dished central section 1a which receives a correspondingly shaped part cylindrical outer surface 2a of a movable tubular frame 2 to clamp and seal it when it is closed. The movable frame 2, made e.g. of thermoplastic material, has an eccentric bore 2b which serves to secure pivots 5 which project through aligned holes in the movable frame and the sealing strip and into bushings 6 mounted in the adjacent upper and lower transverse fixed frame members. Double panes 4, with an intermediate strip 4a, are secured in the movable frame 2 by a clamping strip 2c. In a modification, Fig. 4, an M-shaped sealing strip, secured -around the outer edge of the movable frame, engages a button 3a secured around the corresponding inner face of the fixed frame. An M-shaped sealing strip may, alternatively, be screwed in a recess in the inner face of the fixed frame to co-act with the outer face of the movable frame. The sealing strip may also be used in conjunction with pivoted doors.
