Abstract

831,228. Moulding-machines. HOEKSTRA, J. S., and VERSCHURE, H. J. M. June 24, 1957 [July 10, 1956], No. 19843/57. Class 83 (1). A device for manufacturing shell moulds comprises an open container 18 to receive moulding material, a moulding plate 9 for closing the container, and a driving shaft 2 which first causes movement of the plate towards the container, and then causes joint movement of the plate and container to an inverted position. The shaft 2 is rotated by an electric motor to rotate the plate 9, about a shaft 7, by chain gearing 12, 13, until projections 14, 15 thereon engage resilient abutments 16, 17 on a frame 1. Continued rotation of the shaft then picks up the container 18, and the plate holder 8 is held in contact with the container by rollers 23, 24, thereon engaging cam plates 25 on the frame 1.
