In a modification of the rectifying arrangement of the parent Specification the auxiliary rectifier or rectifiers are connected across the D.C. output terminals so poled that they are always on reverse voltage, and/or in series reversed pairs across the input A.C. terminals. In polyphase circuits there is at least one pair of auxiliary rectifiers per phase.
