Abstract
830,506. Stencils. BARROS, A.'J. C. DE O. April 26, 1956 [Feb. 2, 1955], No. 3068/55. Class 100(2) In a method of manufacturing a screenprinting cylinder, a metallic mesh screen formed with a pattern of permeable and impermeable areas is provided on one or both sides of the impermeable areas of the screen with an electrically conductive coating and is then subjected to an electrolytic plating process whereby the screen meshes 'become welded togethed without. however closing up the permeable areas,. and the impermeable areas become coated with a coherent layer of electrolytic metal. The screen is brushed over on one or both sides with a mixture of 1% essence of turpentine and 99% Syrian Asphaltum, and, after drying, with graphite or copperbronze powder, and then electroplated, before or after forming into a cylinder, in the manner described in Specification 756,315. Alternatively, the conductive powder may be applied directly to the material,. such as bichromate gelatine, used in a photographic process to form the pattern..
