Abstract
829,822. Automatic ship-stabilizing control systems. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. June 1, 1956 [June 20, 1955], No. 37627/58. Divided out of 829,821. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (4). [Also in Group XXXIII] The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that of Specification 829,821, but the claims relate to a ship-stabilizing system in which a fin protruding outwards from the ship below the water line is angularly displaceable about an axis substantially parallel with the athwartship axis to stabilize the ship against roll, and is also angularly displaceable about a substantially vertical axis to stow it in an inoperative position in a housing fixed to or within the hull of the ship. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 802,105.
