Abstract
829,412. Clip fastenings. BELLING & LEE Ltd. May 17, 1957 [July 5, 1956], No. 20823/56. Class 44 [Also in Group XL(c)] An aerial includes two members 1, 4 secured together by a clip 5 of resilient material carried by one member and having two arms 6, 7 for clamping on opposite sides of the other member, at least one of the arms having a protuberance capable of being maintained by the resilience of the clip against a complementary surface on a side of the other member to prevent rotation of that member relative to the clip. As shown two protuberances 8, 9 of triangular cross-section are provided which engage grooves 2, 3 in the member 1 to prevent its rotation. A pin 13 with enlarged heads 14, 15 at each end passes through apertures in the clip, the member 1 and the member 4, so that the two members are attached together before the member 1 is engaged with the clip, for ease of packing, stocking and the like. The clip can be modified for use with a member 1 of rectangular cross-section in which case the protuberances 8, 9 engage one face of the member. The members can be two parts of a high frequency aerial such as a television aerial and in such a case the clip can be the insulator of a dipole. The clip is made of polythene, nylon, polyvinyl chloride, rubber or like material.
