829,180. Helical springs. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. Jan. 14, 1958 [Aug. 23, 1957], No. 1281/58. Class 108(3) In an anchor for helical springs a threaded cylindrical member 18, to which is attached a loop member 24, is screwed into the inside of a helical spring 12. A threaded sleeve 16 is passed over the loop member 24 and screwed into the inside of a helical spring 11. When a tensional force is applied to the loop member 24 the cylinder 18 abuts the sleeve 16, either immediately or after some predetermined displacement, so that both springs are placed under tension.
