Abstract
828,796. Indicating-apparatus; pressure gauges. METERS Ltd. March 11, 1957 [March 14, 1956], No. 7947/56. Classes 106 (2) and 106 (4). [Also in Group XXIX] In a combined pressure reducing and relief valve (see also Group XXIX), wherein the reducing valve 6 (Fig. 1) is opened by a piston 4 subject to the reduced pressure and spring-loaded through a ball relief valve 9 seated on an opening in the piston, and wherein the loading spring 11 has an adjustable abutment 12 to set the reduced pressure, this abutment is connected to an indicating- device arranged to show the reduced pressure to which the valve is set. The indicating device comprises a pointer 15 co-operating with a scale and rotatable on a pivot 33 by a slotted arm 32 which engages a pin 30 on a curved lever 27 fulcrumed at 28. Lever 27 has an intermediate actuating-pin 26 engaging a slot 25 in the spring abutment 12. The fulcrum 28 of lever 27 is carried in a bracket 29 adjustable in two directions by means of an elongated slot 34 co-operating with a fixing screw, and an eccentric adjustable pivot 35, whereby zero adjustment of the pointer is effected. Pressure gauges 20, 23 indicate the actual inlet and outlet pressures respectively.
