[Also in Group II] A labyrinth seal for a pulverizer (see Group II) comprises an annular container 25 for sealing medium 26 and fixed to a shaft 17, and a stationary cylindrical member 27 fixed to a plate 22, the sealing medium comprising a fluid or pasty substance which has a boiling-point above the operational temperature of the mill. Preferably, the sealing medium is a metal alloy which is liquid at temperatures of 60‹ to 130‹ C.
