Abstract

828,196. High-tension switches. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 22, 1956 [Oct. 27, 1955], No. 30748/55. Class 38 (5). The metal oil reservoir 11 of a low oil-volume circuitbreaker has its outer cooling surfaces protected from the direct heat of the sun by shields 14, 15 spaced away therefrom so that air may pass between by connection. The cooling surfaces may be provided with fins 13 some of which have projections 13a on which the shield 14 is mounted. The two shields 14, 15 may be replaced by a single shield having a central aperture in the top to allow the air to escape (Fig. 2, not shown).
