Abstract
827,399. Glass-to-metal seals. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Feb. 12, 1957 [March 9, 1956], No. 4817/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 36. An electronic valve has part of the envelope of glass and part of metal directly sealed thereto, the surface of the metal in contact with the glass being provided with at least one groove extending transversely to the thickness of the envelope. One or more annular grooves of rectangular cross-section may be provided; alternatively a helical groove of triangular section may extend around either the inner or outer surfaces of the valve wall in the manner of a screw-thread.
