Class 132(3) A model railway track section comprises rails 1a, 1b sleepers 2, rail plates 3 and spikes 4 moulded integrally from a synthetic resin material, the rail 1a also including an integrally moulded fishplate 10 having an inwardly projecting pin 12. The end of rail 1b is provided with a recess 14 which accommodates the pin 12 on a rail 1a of an adjacent rail section when two sections are joined together. Stamped metal members 6 of U-shaped cross-section form metal rail surfaces and are secured in position by fingers 7 which pass through the inner flange 5 of the rails 1a, 1b and through some or all of the sleepers, their ends being bent over into cavities formed in the undersurface of the sleepers. The end of the metal member 6 secured to the rail 1b is provided with a projecting spring tag 15 which engages in a recess 13 formed in the end of the adjacent rail 1a when two sections are joined. Electrical continuity between the adjacent metal members 6 is thus provided and the pin 12 is urged into engagement with the recess 14. The inner flange 5. of the moulded rails may be omitted, Fig. 6 (not shown), and a third rail, either outside or between the running rails may be provided. When it is not required to supply electric current through the rails, the metal rail members may be dispensed with. The rails may be moulded separately from the sleepers and chairs, the sleepers and rails being formed with complementary recesses and projections, and the metal rail members holding the moulded rails and sleepers rigidly together.
