In a tubular capacitor including wound layers of heat-treated plastic film, the innermost wound layers forming the inside surface of the tube consist of metal foil electrically insulated from the metal foils forming the capacitor plates, thereby facilitating the removal of the core on which the capacitor is wound following heat treatment. These innermost metallic layers may be removed after the heat treatment. In the interior of the capacitor, a second capacitor may be located, Fig. 2 (not shown).
