Abstract
826,422. Panoramic kinematography. C-M EQUIPMENT CORPORATION. Jan. 9, 1957 [May 8, 1956], No. 916/57. Classes 97(1) and 98(1) Films intended for projection to form a mosaic image have marginal portions of their frames vignetted across the regions of overlap where the same parts of the subject are recorded on two films. Thus three films 22, 23, 24, Fig. 5 are vignetted during printing at 16, 17, 19, 21 to give zones of density increasing outwardly. Three white cards are provided, one for each film, with groups of lines of graded thickness and spacing, as shown in Fig. 3, in one or both margins as required. The lines are blended together by air brush. The cards are then photographed to produce masking films. During printing the positive stock films are exposed first to the negative films and then to the masking films. Alternatively the vignetting areas may be printed on first in apparatus as shown in Fig. 6. An illuminated diffusion screen 33 is disposed behind the device 34 which is opaque in the centre but has marginal slits and is imaged by the lens 35 in the camera 29. After exposure the positive stock is printed from the negative.
