826,078. Road vehicle bodies. DAIMLERBENZ A. G. Sept. 12, 1957 [Sept. 22, 1956], No. 28825/57. Class 108(1) A rear engined motor car has a luggage compartment located between the engine and the back rest of removable rear seats which is accessible from the interior of the car after the back rest has been folded down. The compartment is bounded by a tubular transverse member 15 supporting a light fitment 16, a plane panel 8, transverse box section members 3 and 7, and a rising floor part 6 having a step portion 9. Suitcases 10, 11 and 13 may be supported as shown, and a shelf 12 is provided with holes which may encircle the necks of drinking bottles stood upon the step 9. After removal of the seats, the front bulkhead and the transverse members 17 and 7 may be bridged by a removable floor member which co-operates with the floor 6 to support mattresses.
