678,422. Luggage compartments for vehicles. BARENYI, B. Nov. 3, 1950 [Nov. 27, 1948], No. 26929/50. Class 103(ii) Luggage accommodation for multi-seat passenger motor vehicles is distinguished by such a distribution of the luggage spaces in the vehicle that space for an article of luggage is allotted within the vehicle adjacent to each seat, incuding or excluding the driver's seat. The arrangement is described for four or six seat vehicles and in either arrangement each front passenger seat a<SP>1</SP> is provided with a stowage space c for an article of luggage b' and each rear seat a<SP>3</SP> has a similar compartment e for an article b<SP>3</SP>. The compartments are inclined as shown in order that the articles may remain in position and the compartments are preferably arranged over frame members d and f respectively. If desired a similar stowage space may be provided in front of the driver's seat, all of the compartments being of the same size so that the articles of luggage may be interchangeable.
