Abstract

A dry, free-flowing particulate composition containing Vitamin E is prepared by emulsifying a mixture of water, gum acacia and an oleaginous concentrate of a Vitamin E-containing material, spreading the emulsion thinly on an evaporating surface and rapidly removing substantially all of the water to produce a porous frangible sheet which is comminuted to the desired particle size. The term "Vitamin E" includes a -tocopherol, its acyl esters and g -tocopherol, d -tocopherol, b -tocopherol and their acyl esters, a -tocopheryl acetate being preferred. The gum acacia is preferably plasticized with a sugar such as sucrose, glucose or invert sugar. The product may be compressed into tablet form or used as an animal feed supplement, e.g. an aqueous dispersion.
