A personal urine receptacle for airmen, invalids and the like comprises as shown in Fig. 2 a receptacle portion 28 and an inlet channel portion 26 formed by doubling inwardly the top of the receptacle, absorbent material 22 being provided along the channel portion. The receptacle consists of two trapezoidal sheets of thin plastic secured together at their edges 16, 18 and 30, the free lower ends of portion 26 abutting to form an inlet non-return valve ; straps 32 for securing to the user are provided. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the upper portion 38 is generally similar to the receptacle of Fig. 2, but having two portions securable to the users legs by straps 48 and containing absorbent material; as such material luffa (a fibrous vegetable pulp) is preferred.
