Abstract

822,927. Conveyers. KING Ltd., G. W. July 2, 1957 [July 16, 1956], No. 21986/56. Class 104 (2). In a conveyer trolleys 11 running on a branch track 10 are propelled by dogs 17 on reciprocating bars 16 during their forward movement to impart an intermittent motion to the trolleys, the dogs being supported for vertical displacement so that they ride over the trolleys during the rearward stroke. The bars 16 depend from spaced trolleys 13 running on an overhead track 12 and are reciprocated by a motor driving a crank and rod attached to a bar. A trolley arrested at the first station arrests the following trolley at the second station by contacting the upwardly curved end of a strip 20 connected to a hinged bracket 21 and to a bar 24 also supported by a hinged bracket 21 which bar extends to the second station. As the strip 20 lifts by contact with the first trolley a cam on the bar 24 also lifts and engages lateral rollers 26 on the dogs to lift the dogs out of driving engagement with the second trolley which is thereby arrested until the first trolley disengages the strip 20. The second trolley can similarly arrest the third trolley. Stops 27 (not shown) and 28 may be positioned on the bars 16 and 24 to prevent the trolleys from moving at the stations. The cam at the first station may be operated by any suitable means. Intermediate dogs without rollers 26 may be positioned between the dogs 17.
