822,515. Moulding polytetrafluoroethylene. RESISTOFLEX CORPORATION. March 5, 1957, No. 7319/57. Class 87(2). A process of making long articles, e.g. tubes, from polytetrafluoroethylene comprises extruding the article, introducing a length of at least four feet of the extrution into a pipe at least as long as the article and substantially larger in internal diameter than the outside diameter of the extrusion, placing the pipe in an oven and sintering the extrusion whilst it is longitudinally stationary in the pipe. The pipe 14 may be adjacent to and at a small angle with the extrusion nozzle 11 and a flow of liquid, e.g. water, may be introduced into nozzle end of the pipe 14 to assist the passage of the extrusion 12 into the pipe.
