Joints in electrical apparatus between members of alumina and molybdenum conducting members are made by means of an intermediate layer of molybdenum disilicide bonded to the alumina as described in the parent Specification. An electrical connector may comprise an insulating body of alumina having molybdenum pins or socket-tubes sealed therein by a molybdenum disilicide layer, the insulating body being likewise sealed into a metallic housing. The housing containing the contactpins may be provided with a loosely-fitted internally-threaded ferrule to engage a corresponding externally-threaded portion on the housing containing the contact tubes.
