Class 141 [Also in Group VIII] A mitten comprising a tubular main portion 1 and a tubular thumb portion 2 is knitted from a synthetic yarn 6 and a polyamide monofil wire 5 in such a manner that the yarn mesh and wire mesh are disposed on the inner and outer surfaces respectively of the mitten. The synthetic yarn may be a polyamide yarn. The mitten is symmetrical about its transverse medial plane and includes an elastic knitted collar 7 at each end
