820,921. Spring suspensions. PORSCHE, F. Nov. 25, 1957 [Dec. 20, 1956], No. 36612/57. Class 108(2) In an independent wheel suspension for motor vehicle wheels which are steered and guided by longitudinal link parallelograms 4, 5, the pivot axis of each upper link z-z, articulatedly connected to a wheel holder is inclined to the pivot axis y-y of the lower links which itself extends parallel to the plane of the roadway. Wheels 1, 1<SP>1</SP> mounted on supports 2 are carried by trailing arms 4, 5 springing being provided by torsion bars 12, 13 housed in axle pipes 6, 7. The pivot axis x-x of the upper link 4 is inclined at an angle to that of the lower link. The angle # is 143 degrees. This arrangement improves the steering characteristics of the vehicle.
