Class 146(1) A basket like container for suspended letter files comprises a closed base frame 12...15 and a smaller closed supporting frame 2 having parallel rods for receiving the ends of the suspension rails 3 of the files which then lie within the area of the base frame, the frame 2 being supported from the base frame 12-15 on each side by two braces 7, 8; 5, 11; 4, 6; and 9, 10 extending towards each other, each opposed pair enclosing equal angles with the base frame 12, 13, and 14, 15 respectively, and being formed from the opposing side rods 14, 15 and 12, 13 respectively. Crossed braces 17, 19 and 18, 20 may be provided to strengthen the frames and divide the container into compartments. Castors 16 may be provided on the rods 14, 15, guided between the pairs of braces at each corner. The rod 14 may be bent as shown to form a handle. As shown in Fig. 7, the braces may be detachably mounted, the extension of the base rod and a rod 35 attached to a rail 31 each having a tapered end 36 to fit with a tapered bore 37 in a connecting rod 38. In an embodiment, not shown, a cross rail may be provided to allow the files to be hung both transversely and longitudinally of the container, cross bars being provided to prevent the contents of the files from falling out. As shown in Fig. 2, a protective frame 27, 25, 28 may be mounted, as by resilient tongues 23, 24 on the frame 2, the rails 27, 28 lying outside the supporting rails 21. The rails 21, 27 and 21, 28 may be joined, as shown in Fig. 3, by a grooved connecting portion 29. Alternatively, grooved protective portions of sheet metal or plastic may be secured to the supporting frame 21 and the frame 27, 25, 28 omitted.
