Class 108(1) An automobile body having a body 7 at the front adjoining the doors 2 and 3 and the windscreen 4. and in which the outer surface of the bonnet extends from the left-hand to the right-hand front wheel, and is tapered towards the front where it ends in an edge 5 lying on a transverse arc, is characterized in that the bonnet is closed at the front by a transverse wall or front cover 14 which adjoins the edge 5 and can be dismantled, e.g. hinged about axis 15. The front bodywork comprising the sidewalls 6 and 8, the upper part 7 and transverse underpart 9 is held together by the front wheel arches which are connected to the floor 11 and dashboard 12, and reinforced by a parcel shelf 13. The front wall 14 may be made as a grill 16. At the rear, parts similar to the front parts are used as far as possible, an unperforated hinged cover 30 closing the rear luggage boot; the front and rear covers being interchangeable for use with rear-engined vehicles. The doors are identical and interchangeable, and the roof, curved in two dimensions, is drawn down at the rear. A rear window hinged to the roof adjoins the upper edge of the rear cover 30. Various constructions of car and truck are illustrated.
