Abstract
820,124. Aircraft framework. ZBOROWSKI, H. P. G. A. R. VON. June 5, 1956 [June 8, 1955], No. 17279/56. Class 4. An aircraft structural component, which may be a jettisonable fuel tank, or a tunnel shaped wing or tail unit, comprises a stressed skin 1 reinforced by a helically wound rib 2. Further longitudinal frame members 4 are secured to the rib 2 and an inner skin 6 may be secured to the members 4 in structures which convey a gaseous stream. Other embodiments are described in which the members 4 and skin 6 are omitted or in which the rib 2 is secured to the outer surface of the skin 1.
