Abstract

819,968. Forming selvedges in shuttleless looms. WEBSTUHLBAU NEUGERSDORF VEB. June 1, 1956, No. 15192/56. Class 142(2) in a loom having a stationary weft supply and in which an inserter carries the weft to the centre of the shed and passes it to a weft taker which draws it through the remainder of the shed, a slotted member 1 pinches the marginal warps together behind the fell. The member 1, mounted on a resilient rod 6, is pressed forwards by the reed at beat-up and is subsequently returned by the resilient rod 6. Screws 8 and 10 provide for adjustment of the position of the block. In. a second embodiment, Fig. 7, the member 1 is mounted on a rod 20 sliding in blocks 21, 22. A lever 25 moved by a cam 33, lever 30, and rod 28 presses the member 1 towards the fell between one beatup and the next. A buffer 34 of soft material protects the reed and the member 1 from damage.
