Abstract

An adhesive composition comprises a mixture of a liquid polyamide resin and a liquid epoxide resin, free from solvents which will evaporate away at room temperature and preferably solvent free. Specified epoxide resins are those made by condensing epichlorohydrin with a bis-phenol, e.g. 4,41-dihydroxy diphenyl dimethyl methane. Specified polyamide resins are those sold under the Registered Trade Marks "Versamid" and "Genamid." Fillers, e.g. aluminium powder and/or slate dust may be incorporated in each resin prior to admixture. The adhesives may be used for joining together or to one another metal, glass, wood and phenolic plastics. The hardening of the adhesive is accelerated by heating at temperatures below 200 DEG C.
