Abstract
818,638. Induction furnaces. DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT VORM ROESSLER. May 7, 1956 [May 7, 1955], No. 14112/56. Class 39(3) [Also in Group XII] In a crucible furnace, particularly an induction furnace, enclosed in a gas tight housing for operation under vacuum or with a protective gaseous atmosphere, internal fittings, such as a crucible 4, the induction coil or chill moulds, are mounted on a cranked arm 5 passing through the housing for operation under vacuum or foundation 8. The housing comprises a movable section 1 and a fixed section 2 supported by the arm 5 which passes through it at 7, the two sections being joined in gas tight fashion by flanges 3. The crucible may be pivotally mounted on a shaft 6, and may be surrounded by the induction coil.
