Abstract

818,173. Tuning radio receivers. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. Feb. 9, 1956 [Feb. 11, 1955], No. 4079/56. Class 40 (5). A tuning arrangement, more particularly for a television receiver, comprises a rotatable coarse tuning member and a retaining member for retaining the coarse tuning member in a plurality of discreet positions, the retaining means being rotatable under the control of an eccentric about the axis of the coarse tuning member so as to move the retaining member and effect fine tuning. In the Figure, the tuning cores 2 are adjustable by rotating a shaft 4 which carries an indented disc 5 engaged by a pawl 8 so that the tuning is arrested at a number of discreet positions corresponding, for example, to various television channels. The pawl is carried on a frame 13 which, by adjusting an eccentric 18, can be caused to rotate about the shaft 4 and so provide fine tuning at each tuning position. Backlash can be prevented by making the arms of the cam follower 15 resilient. The invention can also be used for adjusting a condenser.
