Abstract
817,569. Waveguide couplings; phase-shifting networks. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. May 6, 1955, No. 13242/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (8). In a waveguide diplexer, two microwaves of different frequencies may be combined in a common load or separated from a single source; each frequency is associated with one waveguide, the two waveguides being coupled together through two hybrid couplers, the effective separation between which, in one waveguide, may be varied. The latter variation is effected in a folded waveguide section by a hybrid coupler with two sliding short-circuit terminations such that the difference between the lengths of the two waveguides between the couplers is an even number of half-wavelengths at one frequency and an odd number at the other.
