817,513. Washing bottles etc.; brushes. JACKSON, F. March 22, 1956 [March 22, 1955], No. 8268/55. Classes 19 and 138(1). A brush assembly for use in a machine for washing bottles &c., comprises a main rotary brush and spindle 10 insertable into a bottle 12, on locating member 14 on the spindle engageable within the mouth of the bottle and one or more secondary brushes, e.g. 19, 20, disposed generally parallel with and spaced radially from the main brush, the brush or brushes 19, 20, being engageable with the outside of the bottle and rotatable with the main brush. The interior brush is generally cylindrical and comprises radial brush bristles 11 and inclined bristles 13 mounted on the spindle 10 secured to a driven rotary member in the bottle washing machine (not shown). Rotatable on the spindle 10 is the locating member in the form of a tapered plug 14 to centre the mouth of a bottle 12 and secured to the spindle by a screw 16 is a head 15 to which are adjustably secured by screws 21, 22, inclined secondary brush spindles 19, 20, respectively. When the bristles of a secondary brush wear, the associated spindles may be turned relative to the head 15 on loosening the associated securing screw.
