817,390. Locking nuts. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS. Oct. 18, 1955, No. 29726/55. Class 89(1) A sheet-metal locking-washer comprises an annular-body 12, Fig. 1, with radialprongs 22, 24, Fig. 2, deflected with twisting to extend axially beyond the body. The roots of the prongs are of substantiallyequal circumferential-width, but the tips of alternate prongs 24 are of greater circumferential width than the remainder 22. As the washer is compressed, prongs 24 will be flattened until prongs 22 dig in.
