Abstract
817,370. Mould materials. NOBEL BOZEL, [formerly BOZEL-MALETRA, SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE PRODUITS CHIMIQUES]. July 26, 1957 [Sept. 8, 1956; July 5, 1957], No. 23796/57. Class 83 (1). A mixture for use in the production of a foundry mould or core comprises sand, an alkali-metal silicate and an indicator which changes colour when silica-gel is formed within the mixture by the action of an acid-gas. The indicator may be added at any stage in the preparation of the mixture, and may be thymolblue, paroxylenol-blue, or thymol-, phenol-, paroxylenol-, or orthocresol-phthalein. "Teepol " (Registered Trade Mark), may be used to assist in dispersion during mixing of the indicator in water.
