Abstract

815,327. Alternators; automatic voltage control systems. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 4, 1957 [April 5, 1956], No. 10456/56. Classes 35 and 38 (4). An alternator is provided with a compounding circuit and an automatic voltage regulator, both exciting the field. The field compounding is derived from a rectifier 4 and transformer 6 having a current winding 8, and a winding 7 fed from a phase-splitting circuit 9 connected across the lines. In addition, a voltageresponsive regulator 10 supplies an auxiliary field winding 3. In a modification they may both supply the same field-winding in parallel.
